About BSC

Balkan Scientific Centre – BSC is a voluntary, non-governmental and non-profit association established to achieve goals in the field of developing and improving scientific and research work and encouraging scientific creativity. It was founded in 2022. Our aim is to foster scientific exchange in all forms, across all disciplines, by promoting the principle of open science whenever possible.

The BSC primarily engages in the following activities:

  • Publication of books, handbooks, monographs, proceedings, manuals and other publications. Development, affirmation and promotion of scientific and research work is obtained through collecting, exchanging and preparing various scientific and professional publications.
  • Publication of scientific journals and other periodicals. Our journal Tribology and Materials is published four times a year as open access content, and distributed under a Creative Commons license, providing free access to science and the latest research, allowing articles to be freely shared and content to be re-used with proper attribution.
  • Organisation of scientific meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops and other educational activities at local and international levels, either individually or in cooperation with other institutions, to follow the state-of-the-art issues in the scientific and research work.
  • Education by contributing to the coordination and preparation of curricula and conditions in the education of personnel of all professional levels, in cooperation with universities, schools, professional societies and other non-governmental associations.

Organisation: The bodies of the BSC are the Assembly and the Representative. They establish expert services, working groups and commissions and appoint the Secretary of the Association and other representatives of the Association as their auxiliary bodies. The Assembly adopts the Statute, which represents the general acts of the Association. Our members are academics and researchers from various scientific fields.
